Letter: Humor found in the absurd

I laughed when I read Jeff Deal’s comments in his Jan. 18 letter, “Coincidence is stirring,” about Donald Trump and the Antichrist boy in the 1976 film “Omen”; I hope it was intended to be humorous.

I have not tried, but I would not be surprised if a matchup of initials with other fictional and real villains could not be made with all our politicians, both Democratic and Republican. This matchup could also be made with the heroes and good guys of history.

I think a person who writes a letter like Deal’s should say it is humor. Not everyone has a good sense of humor.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
