Fresh out of construction, the Fifth Plain Creek Bridge is open for traffic. Construction was completed and the bridge was opened Thursday, said Justin Johnson, above, a Clark County Public Works inspector on the project. The $1.9 million project, completed by contractor Cascade Bridge, replaced an aging wood-supported bridge that was the last of its kind in Clark County.

“It looks great,” Johnson said. “The project couldn’t have gone any better.”

The year 2015 is stamped on the side of the new bridge, which carries Northeast 88th Street over the creek just east of Northeast Ward Road.
