The Department of Ecology’s Clean Water Program calls for $137 million go to 103 clean water projects around the state in 2017.

Seven Clark County organizations are requesting just under $3 million for projects ranging from stormwater treatment upgrades to invasive weed controls.

The Water Quality Program aims to protect and restore watersheds and communities to healthy conditions. Most of this year’s requests — $128 million –are proposed for wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.

The proposed funding relies on the state 2016 Supplemental Budget and federal grants. Funds could be given as early as July 1.

The public comment period on the proposed funding list is open now until 5 p.m. Feb. 21. Maps, project descriptions and proposed funding amounts are available at http://tinyurl.com/jkk8mfd.
