Washougal — The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society has 30 new cats up for adoption from a humane society in Utah. It’s the third group of cats West Columbia has received from Cache Humane Society in Logan, Utah, this year after the shelter sent 29 cats to Washougal in January and 30 cats in March. “These transfers have been so successful, we arranged to take in more cats,” Cathi Wright, volunteer manager with West Columbia, wrote in an email. The cats flew into Camas on June 23 and were brought to Washougal. The cats were delivered with the initial vetting already done, and have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and received parasite control treatment, according to a release from West Columbia. The pilot and plane for the trip came from Dog Is My CoPilot, Inc., a nonprofit that flies groups of animals to areas where they are more adoptable.
