Letter: Not all puppets are on strings

In his letter to the editor, “Reject Madore and his puppets” (July 22), Jim Fisher seems to think it is somehow slavish for one conservative Republican to support another. In his eyes, to do so is to be a “puppet.”

The local Republican Party has every right and reason to support David Madore.

In the first five-member Clark County Council meeting, councilors voted 3-2 to repeal eight resolutions previously agreed to mainly because they were championed by Madore and Tom Mielke. This paved the way to eliminate the 2 percent property tax decrease approved earlier in the year.

Marc Boldt and Jeanne Stewart, with the aid of The Columbian, have been doing everything they can to defeat Madore and all conservative council candidates in this election.

If supporting Madore makes one a “puppet,” then count me as one of the puppets.
