Piano tech school hosts open house, graduation

The School of Piano Technology for the Blind will host two free events this week focused on celebrating the achievements of staff and students both past and present.

Longtime staff members Bunny Dees and Diane Hadley will be honored at an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the school, 2510 E. Evergreen Blvd. The event also provides an opportunity to meet the school’s alumni, staff and students, and offers a preview of this year’s Keys to the City pianos. The School of Piano Technology for the Blind’s commencement ceremony begins at 4 p.m. Friday in the Emil Fries Auditorium of the Washington State School for the Blind, 2214 E. 13th St. Retiring WSSB Superintendent Dean Stenehjem will speak at the ceremony honoring the school’s 2016 graduates, Justin Dixson and Stefan Kincaid.
