BATTLE GROUND — Want to be a Battle Ground city councilor? The council is currently accepting applications to succeed Lyle Lamb, who resigned his position as of June 1 to take a new job in another state.

To be eligible for Position No. 1, which expires in December 2017, an applicant must be a registered voter who has lived within the Battle Ground city limits continuously for at least a year. The council meets the first and third Mondays of each month for a study session at 6 p.m. and a general meeting at 7 p.m., and councilors regularly have committee meetings and other time commitments in addition to city council meetings.

Applications can be found online at www.cityofbg.org/council-application, or on the second floor of City Hall, 109 S.W. First St., Battle Ground. Applications are due by 4 p.m. June 30. For additional information about the position, contact City Clerk Kay Kammer at kay.kammer@cityofbg.org or 360-342-5008.
