Letter: GOP choices are limited

By Roy G. Wilson, Vancouver

Any nation that elects as its president an arrogant blowhard with zero governmental experience will ultimately deserve the consequences of that poor choice, up to and including the frightening but real possibility of nuclear destruction. Nero fiddled while Rome burned; Donald Trump might call other leaders “losers” as America burns.

Leading a nation is much more complex than overseeing Trump’s businesses, several of which he led directly into bankruptcy. Republicans participating in the upcoming election must deny their own candidate, or admit with their vote that they, too, are misogynist bigots with no sincere interest in seeing our nation or the world at peace.

They have left themselves no other choice. I wonder what they will do.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
