The Building Industry Association presented awards at its June dinner meeting for the Columbia Credit Union Remodeled Homes Tour and the NW Natural New Homes Tour, including the NW Natural Chef, Hop & Vine kick-off event.

The NW Natural Chef, Hop & Vine event presented by DeWils raised more than $3,500 for Office Moms & Dads, a local nonprofit creating a practical way to care for kids who have recently been removed from their home. The purpose of the Office Moms & Dads program is to provide a grown-up whose only job at the moment is to care for, sit with, and entertain the children. This allows social workers to focus on finding the best foster care placement or relative’s home for the child.

“Our spring event season was a success — connecting our members with local residents in search of new homes, new ideas and building professionals that can bring transformation to their existing property,” said BIA President Tracy Doriot in a news release. “It was also such an honor to raise support and awareness for a local nonprofit like Office Moms & Dads. The work they are doing in our community is so impactful on our youngest citizens.”

The Columbia Credit Union Remodeled Homes Tour presented by CFM and DeWils was held June 4-5 and featured four whole-home remodels in Clark County. Winners were: Best overall project, A.C.T. Builders – Marvin residence; Best kitchen: A.C.T. Builders – Gilligan residence; Best transformation: A.C.T. Builders – Marvin residence.
