PORTLAND — Christine Sinclair scored in the sixth minute to give Portland the lead and the Thorns went on to beat the Chicago Red Stars 2-0 on Wednesday night.

The Thorns (5-0-5) are the lone remaining undefeated team in the National Women’s Soccer League through the team’s first 10 games. The Seattle Reign started the 2014 season out with 16 straight wins.

Amandine Henry of France made her first start for the Thorns and made an impact early, heading a corner kick toward the goal that was popped in by teammate Nadia Nadim in the 25th minute for a 2-0 lead.

The Thorns jumped ahead of the Red Stars (5-2-3) at the top of the NWSL standings.

Attendance for the match at Providence Park was announced at 16,931.
