MEDFORD, Ore. — Jackson County Sheriff’s officials still do not know what caused an ultramarathon runner to die during a light workout despite toxicology tests.

The Medford Mail Tribune reports that the sheriff’s department has determined that 46-year-old runner Todd Ragsdale died of undetermined natural causes before his body was found Jan. 30 in Lithia Park two days after he left his home for a light run.

Toxicology tests returned to the department Tuesday and revealed no new information in the runner’s death. There was no trauma found on Ragsdale’s body and an autopsy showed nothing suspicious.

A 10-mile race is being held in Ragsdale’s honor on Sunday in Lithia Park.
