North Garrison Heights Neighborhood — KC Trammel, 43, a maintenance tech at Kamlu Retirement Inn, is being recognized for his work with seniors with a nomination for the 2016 Argentum Hero Awards. The Argentum Hero Awards are an annual event that recognizes individuals who are ideal representatives of the hundreds of thousands of people serving in the senior living field. Trammel works to ensure seniors at Kamlu maintain their independence by creating a livable environment, from hand painting the community’s Wall of Honor to honor veterans and their spouses, to making an extra effort to really understand residents’ repair and maintenance needs to ensure their safety. Trammel has been working and volunteering at Kamlu Retirement Inn since early 2015. When asked what the most rewarding part of working there is, Trammel said “being able to help the people who helped build America.” He enjoys building relationships and bonding with the residents and their families. Trammel is elated about being nominated for the Argentum Hero Awards. He said he adores working with seniors. “I have found my calling, and am honored to be recognized,” said Trammel. Voting closes at 9 p.m. PST Friday. To cast a vote, visit http://wshe.es/hJzaEUxT.
