Salmon Creek– The Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation board of trustees recently approved funding of $60,793 for 15 projects at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. An additional $31,260 was also approved to ensure the Child Abuse Assessment Center has intake coverage five days a week. Among the programs receiving support is Legacy Salmon Creek’s Palliative Dignity Therapy to improve the quality of end of life care. Legacy’s Child Passenger Safety program also received funding. This program offers safety clinics and educational materials, as well as vouchers for families whose hospital discharge is detained due to lack of a car seat. Finally, Legacy Salmon Creek’s Emergency Medication Fund, which provides short-term medication for patients without prescription drug insurance coverage or the financial resources to pay out of pocket was also awarded more funding. “The health of the Clark County community is important to us and we are committed to providing the necessary resources that will create a healthy future for our region,” said Verdella Whareham, chair of the Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation board of trustees, in a press release about the increased funding.
