Much has been written in the negative of Councilor David Madore’s leadership and managerial abilities of his duties for Clark County. It is a fact his positive actions outweigh any negative criticism. He works for the desires of the people of Clark County, not for the “Good Ole Boys.”
One of the criticisms was the awarding of the public notice contract to The Reflector. This was awarded by bid contract, required by public law. The Reflector submitted the low bid, saving the county money.
Another criticism was to discontinue the county parks entrance fee. The fee was a “slush fund,” not benefiting park maintenance. Madore returned the full management of the parks to the county. Check them out — they are now beautifully maintained, utilizing the current property tax funds, by exceptional dedicated park employees.
If long-term county employees get upset by the questioning of their work and planning as being correct because of their length of their employment, it leads to the belief that previous plans were being passed with just “bobblehead” agreement. Madore is one councilor who does not cry over unpleasant editorials. His business abilities do not necessitate him to sell coffee mugs.
