TRI-CITIES — A 14-year-old boy charged with sending his middle school teacher sexually explicit images on Facebook has been sentenced to 10 days in juvenile detention and two years of sex offender therapy.

The Tri-City Herald reports that the teen was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and cyberstalking.

Court documents say the boy was 13 when he sent naked pictures and videos of himself to his teacher.

The teacher had said she rarely checks Facebook and was shocked to discover the messages in late 2015. She contacted police and said she hadn’t watched the videos.

The boy’s attorney says his client understands that his actions were inappropriate and that he needs to get help.
