PORTLAND — An Oregon City School District teaching aide suspected of recording himself sexual abusing a child has pleaded not guilty to federal charges.
The Oregonian reports James McGlothlin was arraigned Monday in U.S. District Court in Portland on three federal child pornography charges. He did not speak during the hearing and his attorney entered the not guilty pleas on his behalf.
McGlothlin was arrested in February after members of a child abuse prevention unit raided his home.
Court documents say investigators found sexually explicit videos of a baby girl and a man suspected to be McGlothlin. Authorities also allegedly found documents on his laptop that described drugging and sexually abusing children.
The school district says McGlothlin worked as an instructional assistant for adapted physical education. He remains on unpaid leave.
