Letter: Toxic campaigning fouls the air

By Gerald R. Johnson, Washougal

The GOP presidential primary race is nothing less than a political Chernobyl. The two preening egomaniacs among those now vying for the nomination spew out toxic rancor. Neither will yield an inch to the other, and the meltdown continues unabated. Anyone who puts a positive spin on the contest is whistling past the graveyard. Oh, the horror. This most definitely is not Ronald Reagan’s party as we once knew it.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
