SALEM, Ore. — Authorities arrested an inmate who had been missing for six months.

The Statesman Journal reports that 36-year-old Mario Alberto Cruz-Ortiz vanished in September from a work crew at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. He was re-arrested Sunday by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and faces a charge of unauthorized departure.

At the time of his alleged escape, Cruz-Ortiz was serving a six-month sentence for a methamphetamine conviction.
