The annual shred day at Spanky’s Consignment last month raised $2,063 for the Clark County and Oregon food banks, along with 1,287 pounds of donated food.

Rachel Phillips, who organized the April 9 event, said it was the largest turnout yet. People came to shred unwanted documents and either donated food or $5 for the Clark County and Oregon food banks. A couple of hours into the event, the first shred truck was filled and a second had to be brought in.
