Letter: Trump’s ideas are reasonable

By John Molenaar, Vancouver

Carl S. Scheuffele’s April 27 letter says “Consider Kasich” rather than Donald Trump and referred to Trump’s “statements against women.” Which woman did Trump insult? Is Scheuffele referring to Rosie O’Donnell? She has insulted the whole nation with her filthy mouth.

Regarding his remarks about Trump’s KKK endorsement — some chapters were established by some Democrats — remember Robert “Sheets” Byrd, a U.S. senator from West Virginia, was once a member.

Scheuffele says Trump is “wanting to pack up every Mexican … and ship them across the border and build a giant cement wall between Mexico and the United States.” Somehow Scheuffele didn’t write “illegal” Mexicans.

And to compare the Berlin Wall with the wall Trump wants to built is beyond belief. The Berlin Wall was built to keep people from leaving Communist East Germany fleeing into West Berlin. Trump just wants to control who comes in illegally — does the MS-13 gang of criminals ring a bell?

By the way, there is $2 trillion corporate money of U.S. companies stashed offshore. If someone would lower the highest corporate tax in the world to Ireland’s rate, 12.5 percent, no company would have to park money elsewhere and companies would rush in to invest here.
