Vanek helps lead Clark to split of doubleheader

Penguins beat Linn-Benton 7-2, then lose second game 7-3

Chase Vanek pitched a complete-game three-hitter as the Clark College baseball team won the first game of a doubleheader against Linn-Benton, 7-2 on Friday.

Vanek (3-4) struck out six and walked two.

Brandon Zimmerman went 2 for 3 with a home run, and Ian Humphrey had a triple for the Penguins. (Click here for complete Game 1 boxscore)

Clark dropped the second game 7-3, as Linn-Benton never trailed.

Clark (19-22, 12-10 NWAC South) plays its regular-season finale Saturday at Linn-Benton (26-16, 13-9) with a 1 p.m. doubleheader in Albany, Ore.
