SPOKANE — Planned Parenthood of Spokane has broken ground on a new $5 million health care facility.
Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho chief executive Karl Eastlund said it will allow Planned Parenthood to expand its services into the next 50 years.
The Spokesman-Review reported that Planned Parenthood has raised $1.3 million of $2 million needed for the project.
Construction begins months after the Planned Parenthood facility in Pullman was damaged by arson. Police investigators have said someone threw a flammable object through the window in the early morning hours of Sept. 4, 2015, causing a fire.
No arrests have been made.
