Prep roundup: Ridgefield, Washougal still alive in 2A softball

Ridgefield bounced back from an opening-round loss to beat Hockinson 6-1 and stay alive in the 2A District 4 softball tournament in Centralia.

Washougal also stayed alive by beating Woodland, 5-4, on a walk-off home run.

Ridgefield faces Tumwater and Washougal faces Centralia at noon today. The winners will play at 2 p.m. for the last of three district berths to the state tournament.

3A bi-district track — Prairie’s Kaylin Sperley won the 100 meters and Columbia River’s Tiarra Ringold won the triple jump at the bi-district meet in Sumner.

Prairie’s David Tran won the long jump.

2A district track — Woodland’s Julia Stepper won the 100, 200 and long jump in Centralia.

Woodland’s Jacob Davis and Hudson’s Bay’s Erykah Weems swept the hurdles events.

Ridgefield’s Silas Griffith won the 1,600 and 3,200.
