INTERNATIONAL DECA CONFERENCE

Camas High School students competed last month at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Nashville, Tenn. Cameron Vega and Noah White were in the top 10 in the Automotive Services category, and Kendall Mooney placed in the top 10 in Restaurant Management. This was the third time in four years that Vega placed in the top 3.

These Camas students also advanced to the final competition: Kevin Chen, Satya Hariharan, Amanda Horvath, Luke Huckvale, Michael Jurna, Jack Kelly, Quentin Lebeau, Amanda Lebowsky, Ben Peterson and Elizabeth Schwartzkopf.

Students competed in role play and written events against students from the U.S. and Canada. Each category had approximately 130 competitors, which was then trimmed down to 20 for the final round. In the end, the top 10 students received medals and the top 3 received plaques.
