TUALATIN, Ore. — Police recently shot and killed an armed 70-year-old man in the Portland metro area.

The Oregonian/Oregon Live reports that Tualatin police say Robert Wickizer was carrying a gun and trying to break into a neighbor’s house in pursuit of two family members on Monday afternoon.

Police say the man had ignored commands from officers and kept trying to get into the neighbor’s house. Capt. Greg Pickering says police are investigating whether Wickizer fired any shots.

Pickering says multiple agencies responded to the situation and at least one officer fired a weapon. He says investigators are looking into who fired their gun and what agency they work for.
