WOODLAND – Woodland recycling company Tribeca Transport will be recognized for its efforts to hire veterans, the state Employment Securities Department announced Wednesday.

The agency said it would recognize Tribeca Transport and 11 other companies in conjunction with Veterans Day. The companies were nominated by WorkSource veterans-employment representatives. According to the state agency, veterans make up 25 percent of Tribeca Transport’s workforce. The company hopes to bring that number up to 40 percent and has hired three veterans in 2016.

There are currently 630,000 veterans living in Washington. From July 2015 to June 2016, the agency said it helped place nearly 7,500 veterans into jobs.
