La Center was named fourth-most burglary-safe zone in the state, according to a recently published list.

Each year, the FBI releases a Uniform Crime Report detailing the number of crimes in each municipality in the country. Protect America then takes that data and creates lists of the burglary-safe zones and burglary hotspots for each state.

The FBI released its data Sept. 28, and Protect America put out its list for Washington on Oct. 26. La Center’s population was listed at 3,134 with two burglaries, according to Protect America’s list.

The cities finishing ahead of La Center were Everson, Warden and South Bend, which all had one burglary each.

The top three burglary hotspots listed on the list were Grand Coulee, Winthrop and Quincy.

Protect America is a home security company that looks to educate the public on the importance of home safety, and also sells home automation, GPS and surveillance products.

No other Clark County city was listed in the top 10 for burglary-safe zones or hotspots.
