A 16-year-old boy involved in an armed robbery over the summer was sentenced Monday to four years in a juvenile facility.

Colton J. Abbott of Vancouver pleaded guilty in Clark County Superior Court to first-degree robbery and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm stemming from the June 11 attack. Abbott’s case was handled in Superior Court because of his age and the nature of the charges.

Two co-defendants, Seep Miller II, 16, and Efson Antonious, 15, previously pleaded guilty in juvenile court to robbery charges, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Kasey Vu said in an interview.

Christopher Remor, 29, was riding his bicycle on North Garrison Road between Mill Plain Boulevard and Northeast 12th Street when two males got out of a vehicle and pulled him from his bicycle, according to a probable cause affidavit.

One of the males, identified as Abbott, pointed a semi-automatic handgun at Remor, while Antonious kicked him in the head. They then stole his phone, backpack and jacket, the affidavit states.

Miller had driven Abbott and Antonious to that area after Abbott said he was looking for a person to rob for gas money. Abbott later told police he saw Remor riding his bicycle and asked Miller to drop him off so he could approach Remor on foot, court records said. Miller told police he acted as the lookout during the robbery and that he had Remor’s stolen phone, according to court documents.

Judge Gregory Gonzales followed the attorneys’ previously agreed-upon sentencing recommendation of 48 months. Abbott was also sentenced to 18 months of community custody. He was given credit for 76 days in custody.
