Authorities still don’t know what killed a woman whose body washed ashore of the Columbia River last week.

Officials at the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office said that it could be eight weeks before they know the cause and manner of death for 22-year-old Clairissa Bliss. She lived in Skamania County.

Employees with the National Parks Service spotted the body at about 9 a.m. on Nov. 22 near the Waterfront Renaissance Trail about 200 yards upstream from the Interstate 5 Bridge, Vancouver police said.

Major crimes detectives still don’t know if there’s a crime, Vancouver Police Department Spokeswoman Kim Kapp said, though added that the investigation is still active.

If anyone saw anything in the area or knows anything about Bliss is asked to call the agency’s tip line at 360-487-7399.
