Puyallup – Police said threats prompted the closure of two Puyallup schools and resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old female student.

The News Tribune reported that the Puyallup School District closed Emerald Ridge High School and Glacier View Junior High on Tuesday after police became aware of a threat of violence against the high school.

Glacier View was closed because of its proximity to Emerald Ridge.

Puyallup police said the teen arrested is a student at Emerald Ridge and that she’s been booked for felony harassment and threats. No other suspects are being sought.

Police said the incident is not linked to terrorism and they don’t expect further safety concerns.
