Salmon Creek — It would’ve been a dream week for plenty of elementary schoolers, but the group who spent time go-karting, cycling and playing with water guns recently were quite a few decades older. In honor of Active Aging Week, residents of Highgate Senior Living who are 75 and older spent time on Sept. 26 go-karting. Later in the week, the group also took a ride around Vancouver on the Couve Cycle. Active Aging Week started in 2003 by the International Council on Active Aging showcases the capabilities of older adults as fully participating members of society, according to the council’s website.
