Clark women’s soccer remains unbeaten

Three goals Molly Joyce helped the Clark College women’s soccer team remain unbeaten with a 3-2 win at Southwestern Oregon on Saturday at Coos Bay, Ore.

Joyce, who is tied for the NWAC lead with 20 goals this season, scored in the 27th, 46th and 55th minute after SWOCC had scored the game’s first goal.

Camas High grad Rylee MacDonald assisted on the goal in the 27th minute, and Ellie Quercia had the assist in the 46th minute.

SWOCC scored in the 67th minute to close the gap.

Ridgefield grad Sarah Kaufman made five saves in goal for the Penguins (11-0-2, 8-0-0 South).

Clark next hosts Lane at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

MEN’S SOCCER: Clark won 4-0 at Southwestern Oregon on Saturday with goals from Woodlin Placide, Max Hauser, Kento Oudomphong and Junior Rojas.

Clark (5-2-6, 5-1-3) next hosts Lane at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

CROSS COUNTRY: Mountain View grad Sam Garvin, a Clark sophomore, was named the NWAC men’s cross country athlete of the week of the second consecutive week. He set a Clark record of 24:52.5 in the 8K race at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore.

Clark did not compete this week and next takes part in the George Fox Invitational on Saturday.

VOLLEYBALL: Clark kept hold of second place in the NWAC South with a 3-1 win at Clackamas on Friday.

The Penguins are 17-8 overall, 5-1 South.

Clark is at Mt. Hood in Gresham, Ore., on Wednesday, and then at a crossover tournament in Longview beginning Friday.
