Published: October 8, 2016, 6:42am

The first phase of the Washougal Bike Park Skills Course will open during a ceremony from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Hamllik Park, 4285 Addy St.

Kids are invited to ride the course and go through a series of activity stations. At 4:15 p.m., there will be prizes for completing the activities and fresh-baked treats handed out from The Hungry’s Bakery.

Bike Clark County volunteers will set up a bike safety check station to ensure each rider has inflated tires and operational brakes, and also bring several cases of free helmets for kids without them.
