EVERETT — The state Attorney General’s Office has ruled that a Snohomish County judicial candidate broke the law by failing to report an in-kind contribution before the primary election.
The Daily Herald reports that according to a civil complaint filed Monday by the state Attorney General, Cindy Larsen, who is running for Superior Court judge, failed to disclose that the political action committee A Safer Snohomish County spent nearly $54,000 on a mailing sent to tens of thousands of voters. Because the mailer benefited Larsen, she should have claimed it as an in-kind donation.
The complaint seeks unspecified penalties as well as reimbursement for the costs of the investigation and attorney fees.
Larsen’s attorney Greg Wong declined to comment as he has not seen the complaint.
