Trico League football: Stevenson 19, King’s Way Christian 18

Luke Nichols completed a 63-yard touchdown pass to Cody Miller after a King’s Way Christian defender slipped on the muddy field in the third quarter, sending Stevenson to key Trico League win.

The win put the Bulldogs in a position to clinch a playoff berth with a win over Columbia-White Salmon next week.

Stevenson held King’s Way to a season-low 202 yards, twice stopping the Knights on drives inside the Stevenson 5-yard line.

Clayton Hansen had two touchdown runs for the Bulldogs, who had three interceptions on defense.

Taj Muhammad rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown for King’s Way, which must hope Stevenson and Castle Rock both lose next week to still head to the district playoffs as the Trico League’s No. 2 seed. King’s Way (6-2, 2-2) finishes the regular season next week with a non-league game at Benson of Portland.
