YAKIMA — The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office says a 20-year-old man has died in an apparent drive-by shooting in the Tieton area.

Witnesses told authorities that Trae Oyler, of Tieton, was riding in a car with three other people when another vehicle pulled up alongside them Wednesday night and fired several shots into car. Taylor died of an apparent gunshot wound.

Authorities don’t yet have a motive for the shooting.

Investigators say he was not involved in a gang. He had recently moved to the area from out of state and was actively involved in a local Christian youth ministry group.

Detectives are investigating.
