Clark women’s soccer keeps rolling

Riley Allison scored twice and Molly Joyce had a goal and three assists on Wednesday as the Clark College women’s soccer team beat visiting Southwestern Oregon 5-0.

Allison, a sophomore from Camas, scored twice in the first 14 minutes to help the Penguins to a quick 3-0 lead.

Riley Smetzler, a freshman defender from Ridgefield, added a goal and an assist. Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Kaufman from Ridgefield made five saves in the shutout win.

Clark is 4-0 in South Division play, 7-2 overall. Southwestern Oregon fell to 2-2 and 3-5.

The Clark women host Clackamas at noon on Saturday.

Clark men win 3-0 — The Clark College men’s soccer team scored twice in the first five minutes on Wednesday and defeated visiting Southwestern Oregon 3-0 in a Northwest Athletic Conference South Division match.

David Joyce scored in the opening minute with an assist from Woodlin Placide. In the fifth minute, Rene Hernandez-Flores scored an unassisted goal. Placide made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute.

Clark goalkeeper Miguel Martin made six saves in the shutout.

The Clark men are 2-2 in South Division play, 205-1 overall. They visit Lane Community College of Eugene at noon on Saturday.
