Letter: AR-15 raffle was misguided

Just when I think the world can’t get any stupider, there comes the story “Pastor who won rifle raffle won’t be charged” (Sept. 18, Associated Press) about charges being considered against the one person who did what he could to keep our world a little safer.

Tell me, what kind of people use an AR-15 assault rifle as a prize in a fundraiser for a softball league? And what kind of parents let their kids play in a league where the leadership is so grossly insensitive to what is happening in our world? I noticed the name of the league was not included. Their lunacy stays hidden. Really, people — that’s the best idea you could come up with?
