Walkers will light the night this weekend to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Festivities for the annual Light the Night Walk begin at 5 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Blvd., Portland. The remembrance ceremony begins at 6 p.m.; lantern lighting is at 6:45 p.m. and the walk begins at 7 p.m.

This year, Light the Night has a goal of raising $600,000, which goes toward funding treatments, providing patient support services and pioneering the promising cancer research.
