Letter: Support for Trump disappointing

By Don Howard, CAMAS
Published: September 27, 2016, 6:00am

I was very disappointed by the recent “cave in” of Senator Ted Cruz, and now local Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, but not really surprised by their about-face in supporting Donald Trump. Both have chosen to take the moral low road, from fear of the GOP establishment, instead of what they know their conscience is telling them.

This, folks, is the problem with our current Congress. Party is more important than country and the people they pretend to represent. So much for patriotism — so sad!

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
