Letter: Internet control must be kept

By Chris Hill, AMBOY

Please contact your state representatives and tell them you want America to retain control of the internet. What it means is we surrender the rights of maintaining accurate databases of who logs in where near real time.

Imagine turning over your personal information, medical history and virtual wealth, where you log into and when, where you travel and when, to a private foreign company. If it sounds insane, it is, and we have the power to stop it. But you must have your voice heard and be counted.

The House can circumvent even executive orders when needed. So, for God’s sake, set aside our political differences on this issue and stop this madness.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
