Patriots’ White House visit marred by Hernandez’ suicide

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump congratulated the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots on Wednesday, a normally joyous White House ritual marred by the prison suicide hours earlier of former teammate Aaron Hernandez.

Trump hosted the five-time champions on the South Lawn and declared that “no team has been good this long.”
