Logan Jones hit a ball that resonated throughout the 3A Greater St. Helens League on Friday.

Jones belted a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to rally Prairie to a 6-5 win over Kelso on Friday.

That win, paired with Evergreen’s 16-4 win over Hudson’s Bay, helped Evergreen clinch at least a share of its first league title in baseball in 35 years.

Evergreen improved to 11-2, while Kelso fell to 8-4 in league. With the tiebreaker over Kelso, Evergreen has clinched the No. 1 seed to the bi-district playoffs.

Kelso looked very much in control after three innings Friday, leading 5-1. Jones came on in relief in the fifth inning and threw 2 1/3 scoreless and hitless innings for Prairie.

In the seventh, with Kelso up 5-3, Brady Majewski opened the inning with a walk followed by a single by Connor Smith. After a strikeout, Jones homered to left to give Prairie a 6-5 lead.

The win also improved Prairie to 5-7 in league and 1 1/2 games ahead of Bay for the fourth and final berth to the bi-district playoffs.
