Nonprofits, businesses win excellence awards

The Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington announced Friday the winners of the Nonprofit Excellence Awards:

• Evergreen Habitat for Humanity won the Governance Award for having an “engaged and highly effective volunteer board of directors,” a news release said.

• Mill Creek Pub won the Community Support Award, an award that recognizes a business that supports nonprofits.

• The Impact Award went to the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes for “changing the lives of their clients and inspiring community.”

• Vancouver’s Police Activities League, Vancouver Public Schools and Evergreen Public Schools jointly won the Collaboration Award.

• Teach One To Lead One received the Volunteer Program Award.

The winners will be recognized at a Sept. 7th reception at Warehouse ’23. The Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington has recognized 35 organizations through its awards since 2011.
