Vancouver – Vancouver Public Schools was one of 54 school districts named a national District of Distinction by District Administration magazine in July for successful school improvement initiatives that can be replicated by other educational organizations.

The district’s award-winning training started with its one-to-one technology program, in which professional development was designed with classroom teachers in mind. As the weLearn 1:1 program spread districtwide, the lead team of instructional technology facilitators wanted to tailor the training to support and challenge school-based administrators.

The Future Ready Administrators are principals from elementary, middle and high schools who work in collaboration with each other, their schools, colleagues and technology facilitators to develop a deep understanding of and connection to technology, using it to enhance teaching and learning, as well as cultivate opportunities.
