PORTLAND — An air pollution advisory for Portland has been extended until noon Friday as haze from Northwest wildfires remains in the region.
The Oregonian/OregonLive reports an advisory issued las week has been extended for Portland, Salem, Eugene, Ore., and Vancouver.
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said Tuesday continuing hot weather and wildfire smoke will continue to affect air quality through the end of the week.
Though conditions will not likely be as extreme as last week’s with triple-digit heat, officials expect smog and temperatures in the 90s will make air quality levels unhealthy for sensitive groups.
The Southwest Clean Air Agency, which enforces air quality standard in Southwest Washington, also extended an air quality advisory for all of Southwest Washington until Friday.
