Additional law enforcement officers will be on the road today, looking for impaired drivers, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The extra patrols, paid for through a state grant, are aimed at keeping drunken or high drivers off the road.

The Vancouver, Battle Ground and Washougal Police Departments will participate, so will the Washington State Patrol.

The Vancouver police department encouraged everyone going out to make plans for a safe ride home or place to stay.
