Michael Curtis, a five-year Clark County employee, has been named manager of Community Development’s Permit Center.

Curtis has been a building inspector for the county since 2012, and was named a lead inspector in February. Before joining the county he owned a pair of businesses in home construction.

County representatives said in a prepared statement that Curtis was “the right person for this position.”

“This is a job that requires vast and detailed knowledge of the building profession, including the necessary permits for construction, as well as the ability to deliver great customer service,” said Community Development Director Marty Snell.

The permits center is the county’s one-stop shop for building and development permits and assistance. It’s at the public service center, 1300 Franklin St.
