Letter: Support Orange for port

By Linda Mather, VANCOUVER
Published: August 21, 2017, 6:00am

It’s time to pay attention to the Port of Vancouver commissioner race. The outcome will determine whether or not the nation’s largest oil terminal gets built next to downtown Vancouver. There are two candidates:

Don Orange will not allow Vancouver to become a smelly “oil town.” He favors clean energy.

Kris Greene will allow the oil terminal to move forward, meaning fouled air quality, environmental degradation, multiple mile-long oil trains daily, and oil tankers docked at the port (and seen from downtown and the new waterfront development).

It’s your choice. Simple.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
