Letter: Use of Nazi flag is immoral

By Ward Upson, VANCOUVER

The rest of the world must have watched events in Charlottesville, Va., with shocked disbelief as young men strutted carrying flags emblazoned with history’s most evil symbol: the Nazi swastika.

All too recently, those who honored what that flag stands for engaged in the slaughter of innocent millions.

The fact that these Americans, and the other supremacist groups, felt free to proclaim them publicly suggests there is a disturbing downward shift in the collective morals of this country.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
